The TUDOR trademark was registered in February 1926 by the house of "Veuve de Philippe Huther", a watch dealer and craftsman. TUDOR was established in Geneva for Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. After ten years, the house passed down the brand to Wilsdorf. At the end of the Second World War, Hans Wilsdorf wanted to evolve the brand, to give it an identity truly its own. On March 6, 1946, he created "Montres TUDOR S.A.", a marvel of design, with models crafted for both men and women. Rolex would guarantee the technical, aesthetic, and functional characteristics, along with the distribution and after-sales service.
TUDOR HISTORY
HANS WILSDORF'S INTUITION
"For some years now, I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our agents could sell at a more modest price than our Rolex watches, and yet one that would attain the standard of dependability for which Rolex is famous. I decided to form a separate company, with the object of making and marketing this new watch. It is called the TUDOR watch company."
- H. Wilsdorf

TUDOR AMBASSADOR
DAVID BECKHAM
David Beckham is a master of stamina. Endurance and durability are king in his world. That's why he chooses to wear the Black Bay Chrono, a COSC-certified chronograph crafted with column-wheel manufacture caliber. This timepiece draws inspiration from TUDOR's roots in diving and motorsports. The Black Bay Bronze is another Beckham favorite. It's a 43-mm divers' watch inspired by the brand's long, proud history. It's fitted with the TUDOR Manufacture Caliber MT5601.
TUDOR AMBASSADOR
JAY CHOU
Jay Chou is an artist who brings his daring and innovative spirit to the art he creates. This fearless attitude inspired the short film TUDOR released, in which Chou effortlessly drives a sports car on a historical oval racetrack in Montlhery, France. Eventually, he speeds through time, a magical moment influenced by Jay Chou's art. The film also draws inspiration from beloved time travel movies of the 80's. TUDOR's short film represents the idea of iconic images of the past continuing to impact watchmaking culture, music, and other forms of art today. If you're familiar with Chou's work, you may spot our subtle homage to one of Chou's earlier films, in which he played a car enthusiast.
